Buddy Poppy

The VFW’s oldest and best-known program. Bright red poppies, assembled by veterans, are distributed in exchange for donations that go directly to veterans in need and to community relief. Watch for our poppy drives around Memorial Day.

Youth & Scholarships

Voice of Democracy

An audio-essay scholarship competition for high school students (grades 9–12) on a patriotic theme.

Patriot’s Pen

A written-essay competition for middle school students (grades 6–8), building civic pride early.

Scholarships & Giving

Proceeds from our events support local scholarships and community needs.

In the Community

We sponsor a local Little League team, hold cemetery and flag details to honor veterans’ graves, host the 4th of July celebration, and put on the pancake breakfast and pasty sales that bring the community together.

Baltic Honor Roll & Bricks

Our flagship community project — restoring the Baltic Honor Roll and building an accessible memorial walkway, one engraved brick at a time.
